Shipping policy

At Afghan Ilmak, every carpet is a work of heritage, hand-knotted in Afghanistan and shipped directly from our artisans in Kabul. Please review our Shipping Policy carefully before making a purchase.


1. Processing & Handling

  • All orders are processed within 2–3 business days after payment confirmation.

  • Customers will receive a confirmation email once their order has been dispatched.


2. Shipping Time-frames

  • Delivery typically takes 10–15 business days from the date of dispatch.

  • Since our carpets are shipped directly from Kabul, Afghanistan, shipping times may vary depending on the destination country, customs clearance, and carrier operations.

  • Delays caused by customs inspections, international regulations, or carrier issues are beyond our control, but we will assist customers in resolving them wherever possible.


3. Shipping Carriers

  • Afghan Ilmak partners with trusted international carriers such as DHL, FedEx and UPS to ensure safe and professional delivery.


4. Duties, Taxes & Customs

  • International customers are responsible for any applicable import duties, customs fees, and local taxes charged by their government.

  • These charges are not included in the product price or shipping fee and must be paid by the recipient upon delivery.


5. Risk of Loss

  • All orders are securely packaged for international transit.

  • Risk of loss and title for items purchased pass to the customer once the product is handed over to the shipping carrier.


6. Delayed or Lost Shipments

  • If your order is delayed beyond 30 days, please contact our customer support team.

  • In the rare event of a lost package, Afghan Ilmak will coordinate with the carrier to investigate the issue but cannot be held responsible for delays or losses outside of our control.
